Well, well, well... Long time no see amigos! So sorry for the ridiculously long Absence. It is again due to my repeatedly pitiful excuse if school work but now it's summer it's going to be much more regular updates.

For summer one of my essentials is deffinetly a pretty summery lip colour.  An oldie but a Goldie is the Rimmel lip balm which I am sure I have mentioned on her before. It brightens up any look, like plain t-shirt and shorts or anything you have chucked on in the sleepy daze of summer. It is creamy and avoids the all to common dry lips which accompany lipstick.
Next is another necessity for the heat of summer. With the hot weather comes the dreaded result...oily skin. Ugh it is horrible and makes foundation blotchy and gross.  Personally a look I try to avoid so if possible I would use a concealer and just a powder. The sleek powder offers a two in one. It has a light shade, darker shade and a setting powder. The light colour is good to brighten under the eyes whilst he dark I prefer for blemishes.

So they are just a couple of my essentials for summer from my very long list. This is deffinetly a topic I will be continuing. Comment below if you have any summer essentials.

I'm super fussy when it comes to foundation. I need full coverage that doesn't look plastered on. Something that's dewy but mattefying and finally a foundation that doesn't leave me broke in the bank. Revlon Color Stay appealed to me for many reasons. First, my friend recommended it to me for oily skin which, as you all know, I suffer from. So instantly I knew I needed to check it out.

The packaging was also a big draw for me. The glass bottle is sturdy and much nicer looking than a plastic squeezable tube. Surprisingly, I actually like the fact that it has no pump. If feel like when you poor a foundation you have more control over how much you use. But maybe that's just me haha.

The foundation is meant to be for oily/combination skin. Normally, by half way through the day my make-up has worn off because of my oily skin and I have to powder up. Even though I still had shine with this foundation, I will admit it was to a far lesser extent and my make-up did stay on all day.

The colour I have is 220 Natural Beige which it really  is a perfect fit to my skin shade. It leaves the skin looking quite dewy when first applied, which I personally quite like.

All this being said, I do have one hang up. On the back it claims a lightweight feel, but for me it feels a little cakey on my skin. I wouldn't say it looked cakey at all but it just feels a little thick for my liking.

Overall, this is definitely I good product for oily skin. It offers full coverage and stays put. Even though you may need to powder through the day, I think it is more than likely that your make-up won't be going anywhere.

Hello my lovelies! Long time new see, I've missed blogging so I'm very glad to bring you my second style crush post. My last one was on Rosie Huntington-Whitley but this time I thought I would bring to you the beautiful Lupita Nyong'o.

She looks absolutely stunning on the red carpet and I have yet to see her do wrong. I think the yellow of the dress looks so good against her skin tone. She also has a figure to die for so the fitted top half of the dress shows of her curves. It really is the perfect fit.

This outfit is a little more casual, even though it is obviously a photo-shot. The top is very wearable for everyday and after research I found a few in Topshop so if you are looking for one, why not head over there :)
My final choice is the dress she wore to the BAFTA's. I've always been a huge fan of fishtail and this is no exception. The colour is so rich, I can imagine that she stole the show.

That's it from me guys, relatively short but don't worry. I will be back with something longer soon.

Hello my lovelies! I have exciting news, I was nominated for the Leibster award by the lovely Sophia over at beauty by sophiia. So a huge thank you for her and any one else out there who takes the time to read my blog. It really does mean the world to me.
Here are the rules:
1) Answer 11 question from the person who nominated you.
2) Pick 11 people with less than 200 followers to nominate.
3) Create 11 questions for your nominees to answer.

So here goes...

What is your favourite make-up product?
That would have to be concealer, so I can cover-up my puffy panda eyes each morning.

What are your two desert island items?
A book because I'm sure even desert islands get boring sometimes and an army knife...I don't know what I would do with it but it just sounds useful.

What is your favourite perfume?
I don't use perfume ever really but the one sat on my shelf at the moment is Beyonce's pulse. It's an orangey and sweet scent and I love it.

Your ideal week away?
A week in Greece. That way you can lay in the sun but still visit all the amazing cultural sites like temples and statues.

Your ideal week at home?
A cosy pyjama day. I would spend it reading books, watching old Disney movies and baking with my sisters or best friend.

Your ideal present?
A puppy. Who doesn't want a puppy?

What made you start blogging?
For a long time I watched beauty videos on YouTube then discovered that most of the You tubers had blogs as well. Then I thought 'hey I could try doing that'. So then one day I just decided to start a blog and it has all gone from there.

What did you used to want to be when you were older?
A zoo keeper, a journalist, a receptionist and a vet. And I wanted to run a Orang-outang sanctuary on the side. So just taking it easy haha.

How did you come up with your blog name?
Well I love pretty things and pastel colours so BAM. It's called prettypastels x

What is your day job?
Still at school but hopefully I will be a nurse when I'm older.

Liquid or powder foundation?
Powder because it helps make my oily skin more matte.

My nominations are;

Matt
Aiste Simkute
rui jun luong
Scarlet Forrest
Elysse Lee
TooClothesForComfort
Bebo Elliot
Emily Richmond
Monique House
Beth Pollard
Beatriz Nascimento Conceicao

My questions for you are...

What is your favourite book and why?
Would you rather only have mascara or concealer for the rest of your life?
Do you have any pets?
What is your dream holiday?
What is your favourite blog to read?
How do you cheer yourself up when your down?
What was the newest beauty product you bought?
What is your favourite Disney movie?
What is one beauty tip you would give?
Why did you start blogging?

Thank you so much for reading this post. I hope all my nominees are very excited. I will be posting soon with a tutorial or favourites.

Leibster award

It feels like it has been a rather long time since I've done an actual beauty post. I've been doing my Get to know me tag and so I feel like I have deprived you all of an actual beauty post. Therefore today I thought I would bring you one all about how to get healthy hair.

One of the most important ways to get healthy hair is not to wash it to often. At the most hair should only really be washed every other day so that it won't be striped of it's all important oils which are what keep it strong and shinning. Another very important way to improve your hairs health is by using the right shampoo and conditioner. It's important to use a shampoo that particularly targets your hair. For example if you have died hair you could use Tresemme colour revitalise fade protection shampoo or if you have long hair the Aussie luscious long shampoo. These are both products I have used and I think they are both good at fulfilling what they say on the bottle.

One of the other most important things for your hair is getting regular trims. I know, I know nobody who is growing their wants to get it cut but it is so important for you hairs growth and in the long run means it will grow more. Besides what's the point in waist length hair if it isn't in good condition.
Now on to a subject close to home; colour. Recently I died my hair blonde. Or at least what I thought would be blonde but very quickly faded into what I tried to pass off as caramel brown even though we all knew it was ginger. Don't get me wrong I love ginger hair but against my skin tone I just looked tiered and ill. Now I am back to brunette and loving it. My hair is shinier and healthier. The lesson; don't die on a whim. Think it through because it is an important decision. Will it be worth damaging you hair if you aren't sure you like the colour?
However if you do decide to colour it remember to use deep conditioning masks every now and then. Every Sunday evening you could put on a hair mask and it will do wonders for keeping you hair shiny.
Finally, when you brush your hair use a soft bristle brush like a tangle teaser. This will stop any hair being pulled out. Also while it's wet use a wide tooth comb to ensure it won't be damaged.
I hope this helps any of you with hair troubles and please comment if you have any hair tips of your own.
